General Information
The Department of Mathematics offers a number of programs of study towards the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D degree. In addition to the Pure Mathematics concentration and the track for teachers, the Applied Mathematics track will have two possible concentrations: the industrial-hi-tech concentration (image processing, aerodynamics) and applied algebra (codes, networks).
The Department is a leading center of mathematical research, with two research institutes, active seminars in a number of sub-disciplines (analysis, combinatorics, algebra, algebraic geometry, representation theory), international conferences, post-doctoral students, research grants and sabbatical visitors.
